Who is SCI-PRO?

SCI-PRO is comprised of a group of individuals who are very serious and proactive about the research and exploration of the paranormal field. Our group takes an evidence-based approach to provide you with answers to your questions. This field is essentially in its infancy and more data is needed in order to provide more definitive explanations, answers to those experiencing paranormal phenomenon. We utilize well-known scientific devices (with real word applications), deemed valid in paranormal circles, to document and observe occurrences that stray from the norm and are thought to be paranormal. The majority SCI-PRO core members are college-educated alumni from varying schools/disciplines/studies - others are currently attending or only credits away from a degree at a college level. Our goal is to get answers to questions that people have about odd occurrences at a given location in an attempt to better provide evidence to support, “Does this location have paranormal activity?”

What can I expect from a SCI-PRO investigation?

You can expect a very thorough, discrete and professionally conducted investigation from SCI-PRO members. We focus on the following goals: To listen, observe, document, educate and preserve. 1) Listen: We will meet with you and listen to your claims and gather as much information as you can provide us about location, hot spots, etc, 2) Observe: We turn off as much electrical equipment as possible (as well as lights) and utilize several verbal techniques & pieces of equipment to observe and survey the location adequately, 3) Document: We will document occurrences and review all of the footage to see if evidence was obtained, 4) Educate: We will meet with you to discuss outcomes and provide you with summary (including evidence if applicable) which will include education about findings if applicable, and 5) Preserve: In an attempt to preserve an active location (i.e. abandon buildings, unkept gravesites, etc) we will make every attempt to work with the owners to brainstorm ideas to ensure proper upkeep/preservation of the location. 

Does SCI-PRO charge for services?

Absolutely not! You will never be charged for an investigation that SCI-PRO conducts. We do this for the love of the field, to try to gather additional data and to help better answer questions that you have about your property. However, if you would like to donate to SCI-PRO’s cause, you can do so at your own free will by clicking the Donations link to the left. Donations will help with travel expenses, equipment upkeep, purchasing new equipment, training. etc. Donation are not expected, but always appreciated.

I believe my location is haunted, what now?

First off, we believe you and your claims. We understand hard incredibly hard this issue is for some homeowners to digest and some even try to ignore these occurrences hoping it was just their imagination, sleep deprivation or whatever good excuse one can come up with. We would never judge you because of something you tell us. Your location may or may not have paranormal activity. What we recommend is this approach: Take note of the occurrences that make you believe your location may have paranormal activity… Did something happen at the house (i.e. violent history, death, etc) that would support such activity? Are the doors closing and opening on their own? Are there footsteps / noises in a certain locations? Hearing voices / see things that shouldn’t be there? (Assuming you do not suffer from a mental illness with these characteristic) Have you smelled things that are unfamiliar with things in your house? Write down these concerns on paper. Do you ONLY investigate residential sites?

Definitely Not. We are prepared to investigate any, and all properties and/or locations. This includes residential, commercial, abandon (without power), etc with owner's permission. We utilize power inverters and generators at sights with no power. Please feel free to communicate with us so we can discuss your specific situation.

Will evidence from my location be published?

If evidence is caught, using our equipment, it will most likely be posted on this website as valid data collected and possibly posted on our websites on Facebook and MySpace as well. We may use visual (i.e. photos of evidence, footage from camcorder), auditory (ie EVP) material collected at your location to create documentary snippets to distribute to BCAT for publication on public access. However, your level of participation in that documentary is totally voluntary (if at a private location with activity, we will ensure that your location is kept confidential if that is your wish). I would love to go with SCI-PRO on an investigation – can I?

SCI-PRO members have clocked many hours in training with the equipment we use and know the ins and outs of each piece. As a general rule of thumb, our core members and “alternatives” (back up members when core members are unavailable) are the only people we use in investigations at this time. We acknowledge that there are individuals out there with vast knowledge of paranormal subject material and/or have sensitivity to paranormal activity - and we really appreciate that. However, currently, SCI-PRO is not accepting applications for “alternatives” at this time. Our policy may change at some point and we may accept applications, so check back often. We are discussing a possible membership option but this idea needs to be developed more.

Are there limits to your services?

Yes. We do not try to summon spirits that are not there, cleanse houses, exorcise, trap ghosts, etc. We are strictly utilized to investigate, using specialized equipment, locations said to have paranormal activity. Our summary from the investigation will hopefully provide you with a better answer to the question, “Do I have paranormal activity at my location?” If a situation is deemed more critical and additional interventions are needed, we will do our best to link you to those services. However, ultimately, we are there to provide you with accurate, evidence-based data and to provide support to you during your time of need.

Will SCI-PRO work collaboratively with another paranormal group?

We encourage partnerships amongst like-minded paranormal research organizations and always keep this opportunity open as a possibility. This always elicits the discussion about what works well, what doesn’t work and this information is priceless to furthering data collection for all groups involved. We would be honored to help another legitimate paranormal research group if asked and would do so utilizing a collaborative approach. However, your goals and visions should be similar to SCI-PRO.net’s. Remember, we strive for evidence-based data only.

I assume that each member of SCI-PRO has had experiences of your own?

Excellent question and you would probably assume or expect the answer to be yes, but the correct answer is no – not all of us have had experiences with the paranormal. Michael, Alex and Tyler have never had personal experiences with the paranormal – but are more than willing when & if the time comes.

Can you look at some evidence that I collected?

We would love to aide you in discussions about your evidence you collected from a location. We may even feature it in a designated section as some point with your permission. However, you must remember that we were not there and know little about the circumstances that brought you the results you have. We are willing to look at evidence but this will be with a skeptic’s eye.

I was pleased with SCI-PRO's investigation at my location - can I help your team in any way?

If you are happy with the service we provide we ask only 3 things of you 1) please feel free to write a recommendation letter for others to see on the website (you decide how much information you are willing to provide). 2) Word of mouth is THE most powerful way to get our POSITIVE reputation out in the community so if friends are struggling with questionable activity, have them contact us. 3) If you are aware of a location in the community that is thought to be haunted and you know the correct people to talk to about us investigating that location - please talk about it with those people and then give them our contact information.   

What if I’m not happy with results from SCI-PRO?

First and foremost we must make you aware of this fact – activity in a house can come and go, become more active or less active around strangers, etc. IF, when we investigated, you did not feel that your location was as active as it usually is, we recommend conducting a follow up investigation when it is. If after a follow up investigation you remain unhappy, we can link you to another paranormal group to assist you further. Please keep in mind though that we will not manufacture evidence, label garbled / contaminated evidence as proof and/or mislead owners into believing one way or another with personal experiences. If it is not documented or measurable it is not valid evidence in our eyes.
